Matrix II is a thorough redesign of the original Matrix type family, created by Zuzana Licko in 1986. Initiated in 2007 to create an OpenType version, Licko used the opportunity to make subtle adjustments and refine many characters designed two decades prior. The lowercase 'g' was reimagined, with an alternate single-story version added to the OpenType version.
- Expanded Font Selection: Introduced seven new styles - Semi Narrow, Semi Wide, Semi Tall, Inline Italic, and three additional Italic weights
- Version Distinction: Renamed to Matrix II to differentiate from the original and prevent version conflicts
